Mariona's Tennis page.
Tennis has existed since the late 19th century. It started in The United Kingdom and soon the rich people spread it around the world. Now it's a very popular sport and everyone at different ages can play it.
There are many national and international competitions. The most important competitions are Wimbledon, the US Open, the French Open, and the Australia Open. The first competition was Wimbledon. It was played for the first time in 1877. Tennis also became an Olympic sport in 1896.
My favourite tennis player is Rafel Nadal. He's from Mallorca and he's 22 years old. I admire him because he's a very committed person and he never surrenders. He's really strong and fit. Now he's the number one tennis player in the world. He has won many competitions, for example, Roland Garros and Wimbledon.
